Orange County California New Home Sales Drop 40% in July
Submitted by Anonymous on Fri, 09/28/2007 - 19:59.Sales contracts for new homes fell nearly 40% in Orange County in July. Condo sales dropped nearly a staggering 60 percent. That's according to the latest figures reported by Hanley Wood Market Intelligence of Costa Mesa.
Buyers signed 185 sales contracts in July, versus 307 a year ago. It was the lowest monthly figure so far this year.
The median price increased nearly 19% to $702,405, due in large part, to the dropoff in condo sales, which are less expensive, thus skewing the median upward.
