Submitted by Anonymous on Wed, 10/03/2007 - 05:00.Topeka was listed as the sixth least expensive real estate market in the nation. The data was based on a 2,200-square-foot house with four bedrooms, 2.5 baths and a two-car garage. In Topeka, that dwelling will cost you an average of $150,075.
It's an absolute steal when you consider the same property costs $2.2 million in Beverly Hills, $2.0 million in Greenwich, Conn., $1.4 million in Boston and so on.
In dramatic contrast, property in the American heartland remains a bargain.

Kansas bright spot in the housing market
Submitted by Anonymous on Fri, 05/04/2007 - 05:00.The rows of town houses at Cottage Park seem to stretch for miles as they curve around Wildcat Run on the northeast end of Gardner. Priced below $140,000, the town houses are some of the most affordable new housing in Johnson County.
Affordable housing is one reason Gardner, Spring Hill and Edgerton continue to grow. The Kansas City housing market in general remains strong despite plunging house values in other parts of the country.
